- 'with the strength' - seeks to employ dedicated, enthusiastic
workers to recruit its membership base, to establish its infractructure
and to contribute to all aspects of the development and implementation
of its strategies and detailed policies.
All positions will
require applicants to demonstrate commitment to the FORTIBUS cause; most
positions will initially be casual / part-time / voluntary-unpaid, since
cash flow will take a little while to start; however, it is expected that
incumbents will most likely be receiving unemployment benefits - at least
enough to survive on until we get established.
All positions with
FORTIBUS should be seen as having long-term career prospects. We intend
to provide on-going personal and skills development programs for all Officers
and Staff, together with all usual entitlements and further, innovative
benefits.

FORTIBUS is not only

Since this Union
is a new one, it is likely to come under attack from the ACTU and / or
its member organisations for competing for their disaffected members -
the ones that have lost their jobs and who have been shunned by their Union
becaue they can no longer pay their Union dues.
Our first and most
essential task is to recruit and consolidate our membership base. To this
end we want to employ casual Membership Recruiters in all areas.
These Officers will seek out likely FORTIBUS members and sign them up and
collect their annual subscriptions. Payment will be by commission on subscriptions
sold.
We seek to recruit
Area Organisers throughout Australia to manage the Recruiter teams; these
Officers will be responsible for communications between the grass roots
and FORTIBUS HO, for recruitment and allocation of territories to Recruiters,
flow of and accounting for subscription monies to the FORTIBUS office,
and issue of Membership documentation, receipts etc. Area Organisers will
only be recruited from the ranks of proven Membership Recruiters. Remuneration
of these initially casual positions will be based on a retainer plus commission
on area sales.
FORTIBUS needs an
experienced Administrator to control the day-to-day activities of
the Organisation. Functions will include book-keeping, accounting for subscription
funds, banking, financial control, and general office management. The position
is initially voluntary, and will become salaried as funds permit; a sales
territory for Subscriptions will be allocated to the position to enable
a part-time income to be generated..
Intelligent, highly
skilled and experienced Board of Management members are keenly saught
to establish strategies, policies and tactics, as well as to contribute
their diverse high-level skills in the areas of Communications, Negotiation,
Lobbying, Media Relations, Accountancy, New Venture Start-ups, HR Management,
Operations Management, General Management, Credit Control, and many more.
Persons with Labour Union or Professional Association management experience
are particularly saught.
All professionals
and persons with particular skills are encouraged to apply to join our
Board. Membership is initially Voluntary - ie, unpaid - until funds permit
appropriate stipendairy remuneration packages to be offered. Board applicants
should first demonstrate their proficiency and dedication to FORTIBUS through
Membership Recruitment in their home area.
General Assistants
- especially with clerical skills - are required immediately for all sorts
of day-to-day work. These persons will be working directly with the Chairman
/ Founder on a range of tasks. They can expect to gain a considerable range
of work experiences and to develop skills such as communications, computing,
Internet and others; these initially part-time / casual positions are voluntary
until the funds come available to pay appropriate packages.
